I thoroughly enjoyed the property and its plentiful and lovely breakfast.
The room was well laid out and well-appointed with spacious bathroom and a good view and a comfortable bed, just what was needed. The location was beautiful, near Maec Parco Archeologico. I ate in the attached restaurant nearby.

The location at the foot of Cortona is very nice for visiting the city of Cortona and as a starting point for the surrounding area, e.g. Lago Trasimeno, La Foce garden, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza and many more The Borgo is well maintained and is located in a beautiful park. We did not hear the street noise. The room was very nice, the bathroom was new and well equipped. The front desk staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the offer was very varied.

I spent a week in a Beautiful Double or Twin Room and loved the charming ambiance the hotel provided. The gardens were beautifully landscaped, with vibrant flowers and peaceful areas perfect for quiet reflection. The pool area was a particular joy. I enjoyed the fine garden view during breakfast.

We had to book late, and Booked.net was a welcome solution to our last-minute switch of locations, so we had no reason to expect that we would wind up with a far better place than we had originally selected. Borgo Il Melone was one of the better places we have stayed in our 20 years of traveling in Europe. It was like being invited to spend time at someone's private estate. The beautiful buildings and grounds and pool were clean and modern, but one could also sense the deep past of a property that has been around for a long time and developed with care and an aesthetic sense that anyone would admire. The staff were, to a person, charming, friendly, and helpful. Breakfasts were a cut above the usual, and our one meal at the restaurant was superb, as was the very personal service. We arrived in the week before full bookings, and the relatively quiet atmosphere made us wonder how such a wonderful (and to us, underpriced) place could be anything but full, but we soon learned that the rest of the summer was booked almost solid. We would certainly want Borgo Il Melone to prosper so that we can urge our friends who might be visiting the Cortona area to stay there.
Everything was either fine or better.

Nice and very friendly people. The staff very obliging. Beautiful area. Recommended for those seeking peace and quiet.
Without English there is no chance of entertainment. Not one speaks German. In the whole area, in the bars, menu, all languages or at most English.
